"Rejection is merely a redirection; a course correction to your destiny."― Bryant McGill
Hey Life Warriors,
Today I’m pulling back the curtain again and letting you into my real, unfiltered world. By now, we’ve built a safe space here—a space where I can be transparent and vulnerable with you. So let me share a little about my week and where my heart and mind have been.
This past month has been…a journey. I’ve been trying to find my bearings. Most of my days look the same: working, coming back to my new apartment, reading, sleeping, and applying for jobs to supplement my income. Sounds simple, but underneath, there’s a lot going on.
Let’s pause there for a second. My apartment—it’s nice, fully renovated, quiet, and most importantly, it’s mine. But if I’m being honest, it still feels like a shell. This is my first new space without Iman, and that reality hits me every single time I walk through the door. I feel bittersweet emotions—grateful for the space, yet sad and even guilty for enjoying it without her physically here. She’s always with me in spirit, but it’s different. That’s why I’ve decided it’s time to shift the energy. This week, I’m finally going shopping to decorate and make it feel like home. Not just an apartment, but my space that honors her and breathes life back into me. I’ll definitely keep my Life Warriors posted on that transformation.
Now, back to the grind. Like many of you, I’ve been sending out job applications left and right. And let me tell you—it’s been rejection after rejection. Sometimes the emails say I’m “overqualified.” Other times, they thank me for my time, only to say the company has “decided to move in another direction.” Don’t get me started on the interviews—walking in with anxiety, doing my best to sell myself, only to hear those same dreaded words: “We’ve decided to move in another direction.”
After a while, that constant rejection chips away at you. It makes you second-guess everything about yourself. Even when deep down you know it’s not you, your mind starts whispering lies:“Maybe you’re not good enough.”“Maybe you just don’t have what it takes.”“Maybe you can’t even sell yourself into a job.”
And you start to overanalyze everything. But then—if you listen closely—you get that lightbulb moment. That inner voice rises up and says: This isn’t rejection. This is redirection.
The universe—or God, however you name it—isn’t closing doors to punish you. They’re guiding you. Redirecting you toward your true purpose. Toward something greater. Something aligned.
So here’s the shift: it’s time to stop begging for a seat at everyone else’s table and start building your own. Time to invest in yourself, your talents, your purpose. Time to remind yourself daily: You are not just enough—you are more than enough.
Stand in front of that mirror and own it. Speak your affirmations. Roll your shoulders back, lift your chin, and walk like you already belong where you’re headed. Armor on. Superman pose activated. Confidence forward.
Because this? This right here is not rejection. This is redirection. This is your moment. And excuse my language—this is your muthafuckin’ moment.
So Life Warrior—what are you going to do with it?
